BEAUTY MEETS UTILITY

After working on most of the first floor rooms of our clients’ Washington, DC home, we turned to the kitchen. Without touching its footprint or appliances, our task was to improve its functionality and align it with the other rooms. For this blended, multi-generational family, the kitchen is a workhorse. Inside the new, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, we created specialized “towers” unique to each family member’s needs. To marry the kitchen’s aesthetic with the global theme of the adjoining rooms, we washed the cabinetry in Aegean blue, added dramatic globe pendants, created a substantial hood for the oven to give it hierarchy, and added colorful backsplashes that reflect our client’s Middle Eastern heritage.
