After building their home 10 years ago in McLean, Virginia, our clients faced several unresolved design challenges. Soon-to-be empty nesters, they craved a refresh that reflected their wonderful spirit as a couple. Our team created a surprising and unexpected design that reflects their love of travel, British design, and the patterns, texture, and saturated color they enjoy in art and architecture. Focusing primarily on the first floor and the primary bedroom, we updated lighting and furniture, without making any architectural changes. We especially love the better-functioning, upholstered kitchen banquette with a custom racetrack table. Our client is a piano teacher, and the new banquette in the foyer is a wonderful addition when working with students.
